Finding food in Bournemouth that fits how you eat should not mean interrogating staff over a counter with a queue building behind you. So everything Street Bites serves — every burger, every side, every sauce — is listed online with its allergens, and our halal, vegetarian and vegan dishes are marked clearly on the menu itself.

Which Street Bites dishes are halal?
A number of our most popular dishes are halal and carry a green HALAL mark on the menu:
- The Classic — beef burger with cheese, £12
- The Dirty Bird — crispy chicken burger, £12
- Street Bites Burger — BBQ brisket burger, £14
- Black Bark Brisket — £15
- Burnt Ends — £15
- Chicken Tenders — £6
- Maple Chipotle, Honey BBQ and Chimichurri Wings — £8.50 each
An important caveat
Street Bites is not a fully halal kitchen. We also serve pork — The Hogfather, Notorious P.I.G, the Hog Heaven Box and our streaky bacon add-on are all pork dishes — and everything is cooked in one truck.
That means the halal-marked dishes use halal meat, but we cannot promise the kind of physical separation a dedicated halal kitchen provides. We would rather tell you that plainly than let you assume otherwise. If strict separation matters to you, please talk to us before you order and we will be straight with you about what we can and cannot do on the day.
Vegan and vegetarian options
Our Meat-Free section is small but genuinely thought about, rather than a salad bolted on as an afterthought:
- Vegan Loaded Fries — £6, marked VE
- The Cowboy Wrap — £11, loaded with fries, BBQ beans, crispy onions and salad, marked VE
- Greenlight Burger + Fries — £12, marked V for vegetarian
If you are vegan, it is worth knowing that Plant Based Mayo is on the sauce list, so you are not stuck with ketchup. Our Skin On Fries and Sweet Fries also carry no declared allergens at all.
Checking allergens properly
The allergen matrix covers all 14 major allergens the UK requires food businesses to declare: celery, cereals containing gluten, crustaceans, eggs, fish, lupin, milk, molluscs, mustard, peanuts, sesame, soya, sulphur dioxide and tree nuts. We list alcohol alongside them.
It does two useful things:
- Search by dish. Type "Dirty Dog" and see what is in it.
- Filter by what you avoid. Tick your allergens, then switch the toggle to are free from, and the table shows only what is safe for you to order.
That second mode is the one most people actually want and most restaurant allergen pages do not offer.
Some patterns worth knowing
Looking across the menu, a few things come up repeatedly:
- Gluten is in most buns, so burgers and hot dogs generally contain it. The Grill section — brisket, burnt ends, ribs — is largely bun-free.
- Celery turns up in our BBQ and rubs, so it runs through the Grill and Wings.
- Milk is in the hot dogs (cheese), Mac N' Cheese, Halloumi Fries and Chimichurri Butter.
- Sesame is on the burger buns.
- Skin On Fries and Sweet Potato Fries declare no allergens at all.

Our matrix is correct at the time of publishing. Recipes change, suppliers change, and a food truck is by definition a small shared kitchen where cross-contamination cannot be fully excluded.
